Job summary

Highgate Care is seeking a Care Assistant at Bowerfield House, Stockport, to provide warm, compassionate support to residents in a person-centred environment.

You will assist with daily living tasks, monitor wellbeing, and help residents maintain dignity and comfort while engaging in social activities within the home. The role requires flexibility for some evenings and weekends and contributes to a close-knit, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in care settings is a bonus.
• Ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekends.
• Commitment to delivering person-centred care and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Support Residents with daily living activities (washing, toileting, dressing).
• Assist with physical, emotional and spiritual care needs while preserving comfort and dignity.
• Support residents with limited mobility and use of aids.
• Monitor residents, especially those with confusion or behavioural issues.
• Assist in continence promotion and care delivery for residents with progressive illness.
• Record care activities and contribute to care planning in line with policies.
• Support residents in social activities and hobbies in the home.
• Answer nurse call systems, doors, and phones; relay messages promptly.
• Report wellbeing observations to senior care staff.
• Carry out routine checks on residents as directed.
