You will work with the world’s largest computing infrastructure, involving some periods of independence from your team. You will learn the daily operations of a large data center, working hands-on with servers and network equipment.

You will interact with teams such as logistics, networking, security, and others to complete tasks. Each day presents different challenges, working across multiple teams like DC operations, DC Engineering, Logistics, Security, and Projects.

Data Center Operations designs, installs, and maintains the world’s largest computing infrastructure, including systems repair, issue resolution, parts handling, and data center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale, high-density centers where you will contribute to technological advancements in the region.

We are seeking candidates for a 12-month contract, offering coaching and periodic assessments to develop your skills. Successful completion may lead to a full-time position with Amazon. More info is available at http://infrastructure.aws.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot hardware and related problems
2. Perform basic OS troubleshooting
3. Perform basic configuration troubleshooting
4. Replace parts and devices
5. Sanitize and destroy storage media (HDD, SSD, etc.)
6. Maintain high system reliability by efficiently resolving trouble tickets
7. Follow DC operations, logistics, security, and safety processes
8. Practice and enforce Amazon’s security and safety best practices

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic knowledge of IT hardware (desktops, laptops, servers) and configurations
• Basic IT troubleshooting skills
• This role involves physical tasks requiring lifting and racking equipment
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle for site travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or diploma from university or TAFE
• Linux knowledge
• Networking knowledge
• Passion for IT infrastructure and hardware
