You will work with the world’s largest computing infrastructure, gaining experience in daily data center operations. Your responsibilities include hands-on troubleshooting of servers and network equipment, often independently from your team.

You will collaborate with various teams such as logistics, networking, security, and others to accomplish tasks. Each day presents different challenges, involving coordination with multiple teams (DC operations, DC Engineering, Logistics, Security, Projects, etc.).

Our Data Center Operations team designs, installs, and maintains large-scale computing infrastructure. Your scope includes systems repair, issue resolution, parts handling, and assisting in data center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are high-density centers where you will contribute to technological advancements in the region.

This role requires a 12-month contract commitment, with coaching and periodic assessments to develop your skills. Successful completion may lead to a full-time position with Amazon. For more information, visit http://infrastructure.aws.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot hardware and related issues
• Conduct basic OS troubleshooting
• Perform configuration troubleshooting
• Replace hardware components and devices
• Sanitize and destroy storage media (HDD, SSD, etc.)
• Maintain system reliability by efficiently resolving trouble tickets
• Follow data center operations, logistics, security, and safety processes
• Enforce Amazon’s security and safety practices

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of IT hardware (desktops, laptops, servers) and configurations
• Basic IT troubleshooting skills
• Physical ability to lift and rack equipment using lifting tools
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle for site travel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma from university or TAFE
• Knowledge of Linux
• Networking knowledge
• Passion for IT infrastructure and hardware
