Job summary

Primark Stores Limited is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Platform & Engineering team, leading the design and delivery of scalable data solutions on a Databricks-based enterprise platform. You will build and optimise trusted data products powering reporting, analytics, AI and data science, provide technical leadership and mentor Data Engineers, and drive engineering best practices.

This role focuses on migrating from Teradata to Databricks and evolving Primark's Data & Analytics

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience designing, building and optimising enterprise-scale data pipelines and data platforms.
• Proven ability to lead engineering efforts and drive best practices across teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating with Analytics, Governance and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Databricks and PySpark.
• Develop and maintain lakehouse architectures and reusable data models.
• Lead engineering initiatives, establish best practices and CI/CD approaches.
