Job summary

STARK UK is undergoing a major data transformation to Databricks-centric platform. We seek a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to lead the Data Engineering team through technology and organisational change, reporting to the Head of Data Engineering.

You will guide the design, development and governance of data pipelines and products, ensuring reliability and business-ready data assets across Bronze to Platinum layers.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehouse roles.
• Experience leading Data Engineering teams through technology and organisational change.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse and Informatica.
• Experience working in retail, distribution, manufacturing or supply chain environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Engineering roadmap and transition to Databricks.
• Grow and develop a Data Engineering team with modern practices.
• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Collaborate with Analysts, stakeholders and System Integrators for data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance and operational reliability across platforms.
