Job summary

Partner Company is seeking a Cloud Engineer in the United Kingdom to join a technical team focused on supporting and scaling modern cloud-based data environments. You will help application teams onboard to Databricks, build Data Landing Zones, and automate Azure resources.

You will work with IaC, pipelines, and deployment processes to deliver efficient cloud solutions, acting as a first-line technical contact and contributing to continuous improvement of cloud operations.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years hands-on Databricks experience in a technical or operational environment.
• 1–3 years experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience in application support, technical operations, cloud support, or similar role.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms, especially Azure; AWS/GCP exposure is a plus.
• Experience using Git, GitHub, or GitLab for source control.
• Knowledge of Unity Catalog, RBAC, authentication, and Delta Sharing in Databricks is desirable.
• Experience with Azure ecosystem and cloud resource management.
• Familiarity with IaC tools Terraform, Bicep, AWS CDK.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation platforms like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• Scripting/development in Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities; proactive problem solving.
• Clear communication with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to application teams via ServiceNow for Databricks and cloud-related requests.
• Gather, clarify, and analyze requirements for onboarding new Data Landing Zones (DLZs).
• Execute pipelines, scripts, and automated processes to provision/configure Azure and Databricks resources.
• Support deployment of Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Identify repetitive manual activities and develop automation to improve efficiency and response times.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth onboarding.
• Create and maintain documentation for support procedures, workflows, configurations, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud support operations and the Databricks environment.
