This role is fully remote within the UK, with occasional travel to our offices in London or Paris. Please note that we cannot consider candidates outside this location or time zone at this time.

Your Role

As a Database Developer at Semble, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our database systems. You’ll collaborate closely with development and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support our mission.

Your responsibilities include:

• Translating user needs and business requirements into technically feasible solutions.
• Collaborating with designers, product owners, and team members to identify challenges early and plan effective solutions.
• Working across the backend stack using Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, GraphQL, AWS, and Terraform.
• Managing infrastructure with Terraform.
• Optimizing database queries and efficiencies through indexing and schema improvements.
• Conducting code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement in a growing company and driving meaningful change.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an enthusiastic team player who’s eager to contribute across all aspects of application development. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of professional development experience.
• Strong expertise in database structure and query optimization.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud-based applications and infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS and Terraform.
• A keen interest in Infrastructure as Code (real-world experience is a plus).
• Ability to write well-tested, maintainable code.
