Database Administrator - up to £46,000 - Hybrid working (Taunton Based but flexible)

The Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team has partnered with a unique civil service organisation. Their highly specialised focus leads to very interesting roles with a huge scope for learning and development.

We are supporting them to recruit a database administrator who has experience with Oracle or SQL Server and is interested in building and supporting cloud-based data platforms.

This role will require Developed Vetting, so the successful candidate must be a sole UK National and comfortable undertaking the Developed Vetting process. This is an excellent opportunity.

What the Database Administrator will be doing

  • Providing support and system admin tasks for both live and test environments for on-premises and cloud databases.
  • Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving complex problems.
  • Analyzing issues to provide long-term fixes.
  • Supporting the database infrastructure using Windows Server.
  • Defining and maintaining system documentation.
  • Ensuring database continuity.

What the successful Database Administrator will bring to the team

You should have a solid understanding of Oracle 19c or MS SQL Server 2019, with experience designing and implementing database solutions.

  • Demonstrable skills in Oracle 19c or SQL Server 2019.
  • Experience troubleshooting database operational incidents within complex environments.
  • Ability to design, implement, and support database solutions.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Administration.
  • Awareness of cloud technologies, with a focus on Azure.
