Job summary

KBR is seeking a Data Warehouse Developer to design, build and evolve a critical on-premise common data environment within a broader data platform. You will integrate data from multiple sources and publish reports into Power BI via an Azure gateway, enabling analytics across client estates.

The role is hybrid in the United Kingdom, requiring strong SQL, ETL and Microsoft stack skills, with potential future cloud migration and collaboration with the product/BI leads.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, deploying and supporting multi-data source SQL data warehouses in an on-premise environment.
• Experience of the full Microsoft Stack – SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
• Experience creating, documenting and developing data models to deliver management information outcomes.

• Experienced in developing Data Lakehouse’s in Microsoft Fabric.
• Adept at building collaborative technical and business working relationships to deliver outputs and outcomes.
• Experienced in authoring technical documentation, able to write clear and maintainable artefacts to support developments.
• Has demonstrated developerership: able to understand technical trends and convert into tactical and strategic advantages; able to explain and demystify technology to non-technical audiences.
• Experienced in a second-line technical resolver support environment, able to identify technical issues and manage from root cause to rectification.
• Experience of using Paginated Reports for Power BI to deploy paginated reports into Azure to management information consumers.
• Experience of creating on-prem data warehouse that provides data to a Cloud Azure instance/Power BI/SharePoint.
• Experienced in working with Project and Programme Management environment, assisting in creating detailed plans and ensuring these are accurate, viable and maintainable.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Developer to develop, support and evolve a critical on-premise ‘common data environment’ (CDE) within a wider integrated solution. The role will involve designing, building, testing, supporting and evolving the CDE, ensuring it receives data from multiple KBR system and Client System sources, structures the data correctly and efficiently, enables creation/publication of paginated reports into the Cloud and Power BI dashboards via a Gateway link into KBR MS Azure instance that will serve various organisation’s information needs, including a KBR team dedicated to providing analytics and insight on client estate. It will require deep technical knowledge of SQL, ETL and Microsoft stack, and demand establishment of collaborative working relationships with technical peer groups, KBR BI/MI Lead(s) and the supporting team of analysts, and occasionally client/supplier users. Role will offer an opportunity to support the Product Owner and directly lead on the data/reporting layer of the overall technical Product, including options to go full-cloud and migrate from on-premise solutions to a SaaS solution in the medium term.

Security Requirements

The successful candidate must hold or be able to successfully obtain SC and will require a 5-year UK footprint.

Location

This is a permanent, full-time position based in the United Kingdom. The role is hybrid and will require 3 days based one of our offices in either the Surrey area or Swindon.
