Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications & Data, the Data Warehouse Architect will play a crucial role in the delivery, management, and implementation of data platforms, applications, and solutions that support internal teams and clients within a complex, high-growth, multinational environment. This position will focus on architecting and building the data warehouse in Azure Synapse and creating data pipelines in Azure Data Factory.

This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with extensive experience in Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and MSSQL, capable of leading the development of data platforms while ensuring high standards of performance, security, and reliability. You will have the opportunity to shape the data architecture and solutions for a growing organization, driving innovation while maintaining a focus on business and technical needs.

What you'll do:

Data Platform Architecture & Development:

• Architect and build scalable, efficient, and reliable data warehouses in Azure Synapse, transforming raw data into actionable insights.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, ensuring smooth data integration from multiple sources into the Synapse environment.
• Lead the development of solutions for data collection, processing, and storage aligned with business and strategic goals.

Database Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

• Monitor database performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks for optimal functionality.
• Adjust indexing, query optimization, and partitioning to maintain database efficiency.

Backup and Disaster Recovery Management:

• Perform regular backups, test recoverability, and manage data restoration during disasters.

Data Security and Integrity:

• Implement security measures such as access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Maintain data integrity through validation, conflict resolution, and consistency checks.

Database Troubleshooting:

• Resolve complex database issues with minimal business disruption.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work with IT leadership and business partners to develop and translate requirements into technical solutions.

Cloud Platform Administration:

• Support cloud platform administration in Azure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Documentation and Training:

• Create documentation for data platforms, ETL processes, and security protocols.
• Lead training to ensure team members are proficient with platform capabilities and best practices.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Explore and implement new technologies to enhance data platform development and operational efficiency.
