Job summary

Moody's Corporation is seeking a senior valuation professional to lead the data value analysis for blended products. You will define scope, build a robust data fact base, and apply rigorous valuation methods to inform pricing and licensing decisions.

This role requires strong financial modeling, cross-functional collaboration across Product, Data, Finance, and Risk teams, and the ability to defend evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related field.
• Experience in data licensing, royalties, transfer pricing, intangible-asset valuation, B2B information or subscription products, or regulated data environments; a credential such as CFA/ASA/CPA is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis to determine, document, communicate, implement, and maintain the relative value of data from multiple sources within blended products.
• Define valuation scope by clarifying use cases, target customers, pricing, packaging, and contractual context.
• Build a fact base by identifying source, content, coverage, quality, timeliness, and data transformation for each dataset.
• Assess each dataset's contribution to product functionality, revenue potential, and market value.
• Apply valuation methods using precedents, benchmarks, costs, income, and willingness-to-pay findings.
• Develop defensible recommendations by reconciling evidence, testing assumptions, and noting uncertainties.
• Prepare valuation memoranda explaining evidence, methods, calculations, and rationale for ranges or allocations.
• Maintain decision records with source evidence, model versions, approvals, dates, and governance triggers.
• Present and defend recommendations to stakeholders and ensure independence of analysis.
• Implement determinations by providing allocation data to downstream systems and verifying correct application.
• Review valuations periodically for data source changes, product design, pricing, and market conditions.
