Data Support Officer - Hybrid - Edinburgh/Glasgow - Inside IR35

Day Rate - £190

Duration - 3 months

Harvey Nash's Public Sector Client are hiring a contract Data Support Officer, responsibilities include:

  • To support and influence the implementation and delivery of strategies in inventory & materials control.
  • To carry out stock takes to support the rollout of the Scan for Safety Programme.
  • To assist in data collection and stock management.
  • To assist in providing training to staff on the use of handheld barcode scanners.
  • To effectively carry out inventory duties, ensuring that the targets, policies and procedures in terms of stock management and control are adhered to.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Knowledge of inventory management processes and a full understanding of the mechanics of stock management best practices.
  • Good working knowledge of mainstream commercial e-Procurement, Logistics, Finance and associated solutions
  • Skills in data collection, extraction, analysis and dissemination of product and stock management information.
  • Analytical skills
  • Experience of working flexibly with team members and customers across a variety of business settings.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Evidence of excellent organisation skills and communication skills with both technical and non-technical people
  • Ideally experience as an Inventory / Material Control professional.
  • Pro-actively manage and prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to reassign priorities to meet deadlines in a changing environment
  • Self-motivation and ability to think logically
