Your Role

We seek a Retail Banking Data Strategy & Advisory Director to lead our Data Practice in Retail Banking. You will be a recognized authority in Retail Banking data, with experience in building and managing a data advisory consulting business. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop new business and deliver data strategies for top-tier clients. Your role involves growing our data management and advisory capabilities, identifying business opportunities, and developing client proposals.

You will also help develop the UK Data Practice in partnership with the Retail Banking team, focusing on industry-changing topics. Your leadership will foster a collaborative culture, drive standards, and ensure high-quality outcomes.

As a senior leader, you will drive the commercial growth of our Data Practice, manage client relationships, and shape data propositions to address client challenges and produce sustainable results.

Your responsibilities include:

• Identifying and researching business development opportunities
• Developing client relationships and sales opportunities
• Shaping market propositions for Retail Banking data challenges
• Building market networks and enhancing awareness
• Contributing to innovation and talent development
• Managing multiple projects and stakeholder engagement

You will also mobilize and lead large teams, providing expert advisory to deliver outcomes such as digital transformation, data strategy implementation, data literacy upliftment, and data management framework deployment.

Your Skills and Experience

Most importantly, you should have a passion for data and a track record of enabling data-driven client success. Qualifications include:

• 8+ years in data consulting, with at least 5 years in Retail Banking
• Experience advising C-suite and senior management in Retail Banking data
• Proven ability to shape and execute data strategies at an enterprise level
• Strong business development and client relationship skills
• Deep understanding of Data Strategy, Data Management, and Data Analytics principles
• Knowledge of data ecosystem components and methodologies (e.g., DAMA DMBOK, DCAM, CDMC)
• Ability to manage teams and deliver large-scale data programs
• Experience in change management and collaborative environments
