Job summary

Egis, via Omnia Projects, is seeking a Data Steward to ensure quality and governance of data across the organisation. You will establish standards, improve data documentation, and enable trusted data for reporting, analytics, and decision-making.

The role bridges business users and technical teams, supporting data ownership, metadata management, and lifecycle governance within a UK-based engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data governance principles and lifecycle management.
• Experience with data warehousing, reporting environments, and data modelling.
• Ability to create clear documentation and data dictionaries.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with governance, quality, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce data governance frameworks and naming standards.
• Monitor and improve data quality, metrics, and KPIs.
• Own data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage documentation.
• Define data ownership and accountability with business stakeholders.
• Support standardised development and lifecycle management of reports.
• Collaborate between business users, analysts, and engineering teams.
