Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Data Services Specialist to join the Data Management Team within the CBS organisation in Manchester. You will support data owners, conduct data quality reviews, and help transition from legacy systems to SAP, while maintaining strong controls and delivering insightful dashboards.

The role requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong Microsoft 365 skills, including Excel and Power BI.

Qualifications

  • Experience with data processes and familiarity with risk and controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to data owners, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality information to support operations.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for data governance, establishing requirements and assessing data quality.
  • Use triage processes to resolve data issues across the business, feeding insights and fixes back to data owners.
  • Drive process improvements and data optimisation, working with business partners to improve efficiency and support change.
  • Deliver training, workshops and guidance to address recurring issues and promote best practice.
  • Work across legacy and SAP systems to carry out data reviews and audits.
  • Ensure appropriate process controls are in place to maintain compliance with risk frameworks.
  • Develop data quality dashboards, scorecards and performance metrics to monitor accuracy and support continuous improvement.
  • Experience of supporting projects with the flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities.

We're looking for a Data Services Specialist to join our Data Management Team, within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You'll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of 'co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day'. Why this job matters In this role, you'll provide support across the business to colleagues that process and manage data. You'll make sure they have better visibility of data quality and find the cause of any issues, feeding this back to the data owners with a resolution. You'll also support the transition between legacy systems and SAP, undertaking accurate data reviews and audits whilst working in a control focussed environment. What you'll do
