Job summary

The Co-op is seeking a Data Services Specialist to join our Data Management Team in Manchester. You’ll split time between home and the office with hybrid working, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality information to support operations.

You’ll serve as the data governance SME, drive data quality initiatives, resolve data issues across the business, and support the transition from legacy systems to SAP through audits and reviews in a controlled environment.

Job description

Data Services Specialist £29,000 to £33,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6B) Monday

  • Friday with occasional weekend work dependent upon business needs Manchester city centre, hybrid working.

In this role you'll split your time between home and coming into the office at least twice a week (find out more about our hybrid working policy at jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy). We're looking for a Data Services Specialist to join our Data Management Team, within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation.

CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op.

You'll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of 'co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day'. Why this job matters In this role, you'll provide support across the business to colleagues that process and manage data.

You'll make sure they have better visibility of data quality and find the cause of any issues, feeding this back to the data owners with a resolution.

You'll also support the transition between legacy systems and SAP, undertaking accurate data reviews and audits whilst working in a control focussed environment.

What you'll do
  • Provide support to data owners, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality information to support operations
  • Act as the subject matter expert for data governance, establishing requirements and assessing data quality
  • Use triage processes to resolve data issues across the business, feeding insights and fixes back to data owners
  • Drive process improvements and data optimisation, working with business partners to improve efficiency and support change
  • Deliver training, workshops and guidance to address recurring issues and promote best practice
  • Work across legacy and SAP systems to carry out data reviews and audits
  • Ensure appropriate process controls are in place to maintain compliance with risk frameworks
  • Develop data quality dashboards, scorecards and performance metrics to monitor accuracy and support continuous improvement What you'll bring We're committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria.

  • Experience of supporting projects with the flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities
  • Analytical thinking with complex problem-solving skills
  • The ability to confidently use Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, conditional formatting, V-look ups) and Power BI
