Job summary

Welltower is seeking a Data Scientist to join onsite in London. You will collaborate with US/Canada teams and the UK asset management group to apply machine learning and predictive analytics for capital allocation decisions.

The role emphasizes data integration, model deployment, and analytical storytelling for business partners in real estate and healthcare sectors. A PhD is required, with strong programming and visualization skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data and analytics landscape with at least 2 years of work experience.
• Strong technical skills in Reporting and Analytical Analysis, Predictive Modeling, and Solution Architecture.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms (tree-based models, neural networks).
• Experience with data science toolkits (R, MATLAB, Python); excellence in at least one.
• Experience with data mining and data visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI).
• Applied statistics skills (distributions, correlation, statistical testing, regression) and strong communication with business partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Business Insights team with Welltower’s data and analytics strategy and predictive analytics applications for UK asset management and investment teams.
• Guide investment and asset management teams to the right location/market based on the data science platform.
• Select features, build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques.
• Extend company’s data with third party sources and integrate into the data science models.
• Analyze the output of predictive analytics models to support UK investment decisions with data-backed insights.
• Enhance data collection procedures for analytics.
• Process, cleanse, and verify data integrity used for analysis.
• Do ad-hoc analyses and present results to the UK team.
