Job summary

Expedia Group's Hotels.com Analytics team is seeking a Data Scientist III to own analytics for growth domains such as customer growth, loyalty, and website performance. You will frame questions, design rigorous analyses, run experiments, and translate insights into decisions shaping product strategy and marketing.

Qualifications

• Mastery of SQL and experience with complex data ecosystems.
• Translating big data into strategic, actionable business recommendations; end-to-end data-to-decision experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong statistical methods and experimentation techniques (A/B tests, Pre/Post).
• Experience influencing Director+ stakeholders.
• Strong analytics foundation and data storytelling.
• Ability to visualize analyses for presentations and reporting (PowerPoint, Tableau).
• Quantitative degree preferred; experience in ecommerce or travel industry bonus.

Responsibilities

• Deep dive into customer and booking data to uncover patterns and growth paths.
• Design and analyze experiments (A/B tests, Pre/Post) for product and marketing.
• Develop analytical toolkit (SQL, Python, statistics, experimentation) to extract insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges and provide insights.
• Drive actions to improve KPIs like revenue, engagement, retention.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs; train stakeholders.
• Monitor metrics and trends to proactively suggest actions.
