Job summary

Principle is seeking a Data Scientist to join a global technology company’s product data science team. You will lead analytics and experimentation for ecommerce, advertising and conversion experiences, translating complex data into actionable business recommendations.

You will apply advanced analytics, experiment design, and AI-powered tooling to improve conversion and engagement at scale, collaborating with Product and Engineering to influence strategy and decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in product data science or product analytics within ecommerce/advertising platforms.
• Proven experience designing and evaluating product experiments including A/B testing and statistical analysis.
• Strong understanding of digital advertising, consumer behaviour, conversion funnels and commercial metrics.
• Hands-on experience using Python and SQL for data analysis.
• Experience with large, complex datasets and translating findings into product recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to own analytical projects from problem definition to recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead product analytics and experimentation initiatives to improve conversion, engagement and purchasing experiences.
• Design, execute and evaluate A/B tests and product experiments, measuring impact on customer behaviour and business outcomes.
• Analyse large-scale datasets to identify purchasing trends, market opportunities and product improvement opportunities.
• Apply statistical analysis and Python/SQL to investigate hypotheses and generate actionable insights.
• Evaluate product features and customer experiences, using quantitative evidence to recommend improvements.
• Leverage AI-powered analytics tools and automated workflows to accelerate research and experimentation.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to influence product strategy and decision-making.
• Present complex analytical findings clearly, connecting recommendations to measurable commercial outcomes.
