Job summary

iwoca is seeking a Data Scientist for Credit Cards to lead the analysis and modelling that drive commercial decisions. You will handle small samples with Bayesian methods, quantify uncertainty, and communicate implications to business leads.

You will own projects from framing questions to helping the team act on results, collaborating within Credit Cards and with data scientists across iwoca.

Qualifications

• Background in probability and statistics from a quantitative field.
• Experience with priors, updating, and hierarchical models in real work.
• Ability to frame questions and translate into actionable analyses.
• Curiosity about customer economics to shape analyses.
• Ability to choose AI-assisted methods and validate outputs for business use.
• Clear written and spoken communication for non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Frame commercial questions and own the modelling for card decisions.
• Run Bayesian analyses on small or incomplete data samples.
• Collaborate with Credit Risk Modelling to align card and lending models.
• Deliver end-to-end projects from framing to implementation and impact.
• Share methods with analytics guild and drive production-ready pipelines.
