Job summary

iwoca is looking for a Data Scientist to join the iwocaPay Risk Squad in London. You’ll own credit models that decide who iwocaPay can fund and on what terms, shaping risk modelling from design to deployment.

You’ll work with a small team to influence model choices, build end-to-end pipelines, and apply advanced analytics to real business problems. This is a hands-on role with room to grow as our product expands.

Qualifications

• Expertise in supervised machine learning on tabular data, end-to-end production models.
• Strong foundations in probability, uncertainty quantification, model calibration and error analysis.
• Ability to work independently in a messy, early-stage environment and ship models autonomously.
• Data engineering capability – building pipelines and managing datasets alongside modelling work.

Responsibilities

• Own credit modelling stack end-to-end for iwocaPay risk decisions.
• Collaborate on model design and prioritisation with a fellow data scientist.
• Influence lending terms and portfolio performance through robust modelling.
