Job summary

Axom Gaming is seeking a Data Scientist to advance machine learning models and analytics behind our marketing automation platform. You will work with a small, highly technical team across data science, engineering and product, taking ownership of defined projects in a hands-on role.

The position is hybrid, three days per week in the office, with opportunities to contribute to agentic AI capabilities and next-best-action initiatives. Strong Python, ML and SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial work experience in data science or related technical role.
• University degree in a technical subject (CS, Math, Stats, Physics or Engineering).
• Strong Python skills with pandas for data preparation and analysis.
• SQL skills with behavioural or transactional datasets.
• Practical ML experience including training, evaluation and avoiding data leakage.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude, Cursor) for coding assistance.

Responsibilities

• Explore and prepare customer data, identify patterns for product and client insights.
• Build, train and evaluate ML models; perform feature engineering and validation.
• Contribute to models for LTV, churn and marketing response, including deep nets.
• Write clear Python code and review/ test AI-generated code outputs.
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy models and monitor performance.
• Run experiments to measure impact on decisions and commercial outcomes.
• Contribute to agentic AI and next-best-action capabilities with the team.
• Explain findings clearly and translate analysis into product improvements.
