The role

TalkTalk is passionate about using data-driven insights to inform our decision-making, from daily operations to addressing complex business questions.

The Data Science team collaborates closely with Product & Commercial, Marketing, and Sales & Loyalty teams to enhance customer satisfaction and value.

Your responsibilities

As a Data Scientist, you'll work directly with stakeholders to design and test business hypotheses, developing trigger-based campaigns to address core business challenges.

Your work will focus on reducing churn, increasing satisfaction, and boosting revenue through machine learning, industrializing predictive and prescriptive models, and segmentation.

You will advocate for customers, helping colleagues understand and connect with our customers at both overall and segment levels.

You will also collaborate with other analysts and researchers to deliver the Customer Insight Strategy.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about data and analytics, experienced in delivering actionable insights, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You should also have a desire to develop yourself and others within the analytics community, enhancing our Data Science capabilities.

What do I need to be successful?

Must have:

• A BSc or MSc in a numerate discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering)
• Strong experience in customer analytics and insights
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one of the following: Python, R, Scala
• Expertise in statistical modeling, including k-means segmentation, multiple regression, factor analysis, time-series forecasting, and gradient boosting
• Ability to build strong relationships and trust with business and technical colleagues
• Skilled in communicating complex insights clearly and succinctly

Desirable:

• Experience in the Telecommunications sector
• Background in agency or consultancy work
• Experience in deep learning, neural networks, reinforcement, and adaptive learning
• Experience with digital datasets, such as social listening, social network analysis, and natural language processing
• Familiarity with Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, GCP, or AWS) and data visualization using PowerBI
• Experience in Marketing ROI initiatives like Econometrics, Marketing Mix Modeling, and Attribution
