Data Science Manager – Lloyd’s Market, Insurance, Digital-Follow, Machine Learning – London – Permanent - £120,000-£140,000 Base + Bonus + Benefits

One of our leading Lloyd’s Market clients is seeking a Data Science Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a high-impact role focused on the ownership, development and enhancement of Data Science projects—such as Algorithmic Risk Ranking, Digital-Follow, Machine Learning Profitability Analysis and Pricing.

You will play a crucial role in shaping the organisation’s data science capabilities, supporting underwriting teams with actionable insights, improving risk selection and profitability, and driving automation and efficiency across departments. This role is integral to the development and deployment of advanced analytics solutions and plays a strategic part in the delivery of data-driven decision making.

You will work closely with underwriters, data engineers, actuaries, and technology teams to capture, and implement business and technical requirements—delivering robust data science use cases that are embedded into dashboards, data assets and the Underwriter Workbench.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong background in Data Science, Statistics, or a quantitative discipline.
• Proven experience managing and leading Data Science teams.
• Demonstrable stakeholder engagement experience
• Strong programming skills
• Excellent statistical, data manipulation and analytical skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with Azure data technologies such as Data Factory, SQL, Synapse Analytics and Power BI.
