Barclay Simpson is seeking a data retention specialist for a 12-month fixed-term contract in London. You will take ownership of a major data retention programme, assess current practices, and drive changes across the business.
The role requires strong knowledge of data retention and regulatory requirements, plus the ability to engage with stakeholders and translate policy into practical processes. Hybrid working is available, typically 1–2 days in the London office.
Take ownership of a major data retention programme in a fast-growing global Financial Services business where there’s a genuine opportunity to build, improve and make an impact.
You’ll join at an important point in the organisation’s transformation, taking an existing retention framework and turning it into something that works across the business. You’ll have the autonomy to get out into the organisation, understand how information is being managed and drive the changes needed.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract, with a salary of up to £90,000 and a strong possibility of becoming permanent. You’ll also have flexible hybrid working, typically spending 1-2 days a week in the London office.
And it’s not just a BAU retention role. You’ll be joining a business that has grown rapidly over the last decade through expansion and acquisition, creating a complex data landscape across numerous businesses and systems. A wider transformation programme is now underway across data management, governance, privacy and AI, and you’ll be part of building it.
Take the existing data retention approach and move it into its next, more operational phase. You’ll work directly with stakeholders across the business, carrying out retention assessments, understanding how information is held and used, and identifying where changes are needed.
You’ll help turn policy and regulatory requirements into practical processes, working through legacy systems and a complex organisational landscape rather than simply maintaining something that is already finished.
They’re a rapidly growing global organisation operating within the insurance market. In around a decade they’ve grown to become one of the major players in their industry, while continuing to expand through acquisition.
That growth has created a genuinely interesting data environment, and they’re now investing heavily in transforming how data, privacy, information governance and AI are managed across the organisation.
They typically do 1–2 days a week in the London office.
