Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Data Protection Coordinator to embed privacy and data protection best practice across the business. You will work with IT, Legal and HR to ensure data is managed responsibly and obligations are met.

You will coordinate DSARs, support DPIAs, maintain ROPA, and assist with investigations and regulatory reporting while driving privacy awareness and training across teams.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of UK GDPR and data protection legislation.
• Experience handling Data Subject Rights Requests (DSARs).
• Knowledge of DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
• Experience maintaining Records of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Experience with data breach response and investigations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support the organisation's data protection and privacy programme.
• Coordinate Data Subject Rights Requests (DSARs) including SARs and Right to Erasure.
• Assist teams with DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
• Maintain Records of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Support investigations into data protection incidents and breaches.
• Assist with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Review privacy implications of projects, systems and third-party suppliers.
• Support supplier due diligence and Data Processing Agreement reviews.
• Contribute to third-party privacy risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and guidance.
• Coordinate employee privacy awareness and training initiatives.
• Monitor changes in data protection legislation and guidance.
• Support internal and external compliance audits.
• Produce compliance reporting and MI.

An established and growing UK organisation is looking for a Data Protection Coordinator to play a key role in embedding privacy and data protection best practice across the business. Working closely with teams across IT, Legal, HR and the wider business, you'll help ensure personal data is managed responsibly, compliance obligations are met, and privacy considerations are built into everyday operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the organisation's data protection and privacy programme.
• Managing and coordinating Data Subject Rights Requests (DSARs), including Subject Access Requests and Right to Erasure requests.
• Assisting teams with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
• Maintaining Records of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Supporting investigations into data protection incidents and personal data breaches.
• Assisting with regulatory reporting requirements where necessary.
• Reviewing privacy implications of projects, systems and third-party suppliers.
• Supporting supplier due diligence and Data Processing Agreement reviews.
• Contributing to third-party privacy risk assessments.
• Developing and maintaining privacy policies, procedures and guidance.
• Coordinating employee awareness and data protection training initiatives.
• Monitoring changes in data protection legislation and regulatory guidance.

• Producing compliance reporting and management information.

What We’re Looking For

You may already be working as a Data Protection Coordinator, Privacy Administrator, Compliance Coordinator or Governance professional and be looking for your next challenge.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience working with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
• Knowledge of managing Data Subject Rights Requests (DSARs).
• Understanding of DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
• Experience maintaining Records of Processing Activities (ROPA).Knowledge of personal data incident management and breach response.
