Job summary

Reflection is seeking a Data Product counsel to lead legal support for data acquisition and AI model training across product teams. You will interpret US and international AI laws, translate them into actionable product roadmaps, and partner with product, research, engineering and safety teams to ensure responsible development.

This high-impact, build-stage role requires designing policies, review processes and guidance to accelerate progress while maintaining compliance posture.

Qualifications

• J.D. and bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction or in-house registration.
• Strong experience advising on AI data use, safety, privacy and IP.
• Experience translating evolving US and international AI laws into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary legal contact for pre-training and data teams on data acquisition and AI training.
• Advise on agentic and search-based product proposals and associated regulatory risks.
• Design data integrity standards and compliance policies for data provenance and usage.
• Support cross-functional teams to enable responsible model releases and data controls.
• Monitor and translate US/UK/EU regulatory developments into actionable guidance for leadership.
