Job summary

WaterAid in London is seeking a Data Privacy & Risk Officer to maintain and advance data protection compliance and risk management maturity. You will work with the Data Protection Manager and the Executive Director to drive sustainable change across the organisation.

You will help establish robust standards, deliver specialist training, and oversee risk registers while promoting WaterAid’s commitment to equity and safeguarding in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with key data protection principles and a proven ability to learn.
• Ability to handle information with appropriate care, sensitivity and confidentiality
• Excellent attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Data Protection Manager to establish and maintain robust data protection standards across WaterAid.
• Support the response to information rights requests (e.g., Subject Access Requests, Right to Erasure).
• Coordinate and deliver training relating to applicable data protection requirements.
• Coordinate the risk management process and liaison with relevant functions on risk registers.
• Maintain WaterAid UK’s Risk Management Policy and arrange training.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.
