Job summary

AJ Bell is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Manager to support the Data Privacy team and assist the Data Protection Officer in overseeing privacy across the business. The role provides independent advice, challenge and governance, helping AJ Bell manage privacy risk as the organisation evolves.

You’ll work with stakeholders at all levels, combining technical data protection expertise with risk management and governance, and you'll contribute to continuous improvement of the privacy framework

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR, with practical application in an organisation.
• Experience in data protection, privacy, risk or compliance roles.
• Experience within financial services or another regulated environment.
• Practical DPIAs, personal data breaches and data subject rights handling.
• Ability to interpret legislation and translate into pragmatic advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, practical data protection guidance to stakeholders.
• Review and advise on DPIAs for new initiatives, products, systems and changes.
• Support management of personal data breaches, including investigation and remediation.
• Handle data subject rights requests and ensure statutory timelines.
• Produce monthly privacy MI and contribute to governance reporting.
