Qualifications

• Senior or lead-level data engineering experience with a track record of building scalable data platforms.
• Deep knowledge of GCP tools and modern data stack components.
• Strong Python/SQL coding and rigorous code review discipline.
• Experience designing complex data models and pipelines across batch and streaming workloads.
• Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive technical design and architecture of data pipelines, models, and platform components.
• Set engineering standards for quality, testing, observability, security, and documentation.
• Lead discovery sessions, design reviews, and provide actionable feedback.
• Identify technical debt and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Evaluate tools within the GCP ecosystem and beyond, with guidance to the Data Engineering Manager.
• Unblock the team and ensure alignment with data strategy and platform vision.
• Mentor junior through senior engineers and support their career growth.
• Collaborate with Data Governance, Data Product, and other tech teams to ensure governance and delivery.
