Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to help shape our enterprise data platform in London. You will build AWS foundations, reusable cloud services, automation pipelines and security controls to enable rapid, reliable delivery across the organisation.

Working with platform, data and security engineers, you’ll turn infrastructure needs into reusable capabilities, promote best practices, and foster a culture of engineering excellence with a hybrid 3 days in-office pattern.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable expertise in Terraform Engineering and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines and GitOps in cloud platforms.
• Hands-on AWS engineering with security, networking and observability.
• Experience with Databricks on AWS and platform engineering patterns.
• Ability to design self-service capabilities and internal platform products.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of scalable software platforms.
• Mentor engineers and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop reusable platform components and pipelines.
• Ensure security, governance and resilience across environments.
• Partner with product managers and security to align technical roadmaps.
