Job summary

Student Loans Company is seeking a data professional to design and maintain data platforms supporting student finance services across the UK. You will develop BI capabilities and ensure trusted data access for decision making affecting students’ journeys.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with Oracle SQL and data warehouses, and an understanding of Agile methodologies within a collaborative, cross-team environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and with other teams.
• Ability to quickly learn modern tools and embrace modern techniques.
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges.
• Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience using Oracle SQL.
• Previous Data Warehouse knowledge.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Successful completion of employment history, criminal record, credit reference and fraud checks.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and continuously improve data platforms and applications underpinning critical student finance services across the UK.
• Develop and support systems providing analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
• Ensure colleagues have access to trusted data for decisions affecting students’ journeys.
• Contribute to outcome-based projects involving analytics, reporting and the content management system.
• Handle high volumes of data across four data warehouses.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver secure, accurate and efficient student finance services.
