The company is a well-established consultancy with a strong presence in capital markets, financial services, and energy sectors. The Data Architecture team, led by an experienced Head of Data Architecture, focuses on data modelling, strategy, and metadata management, with over 300 professionals working across various data roles to deliver innovative solutions to clients.

Role Overview:

They are seeking a skilled Data Modeller to join their growing team. This role will focus on designing and developing both relational and dimensional data models to support robust, scalable data solutions. You’ll work extensively with STAR schemas, role-playing dimensions, and handle late-arriving data scenarios as part of building high-quality data models. In addition to modelling, the role involves hands-on ETL processing, metadata management, and working with semi-structured data formats. The position suits someone with strong financial services experience and a consulting background, who can collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Modelling (60–70%): Design and implement relational and dimensional data models, applying best practices in normalisation and working with complex structures like parent-child tables. You’ll leverage your understanding of STAR schemas and role-playing dimensions to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • ETL and Metadata Management: Lead the design and optimisation of ETL processes and manage metadata to ensure data quality and traceability. Experience working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Redshift will be key here.
  • Handling Complex Data Scenarios: Address challenges such as late-arriving dimensions and semi-structured data formats within your modelling and integration pipelines.
  • Collaborative Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, ensuring alignment across data architecture, engineering, and reporting layers.
  • Client Engagement: Apply your experience in financial services or capital markets to understand client data needs and deliver actionable insights within a consulting framework

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in designing relational and dimensional data models, including STAR schemas and role-playing dimensions.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling concepts such as normalisation types, parent-child table structures, and handling of late-arriving dimensions.
  • Proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience across modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
  • Solid skills in ETL processing, metadata management, and building scalable data pipelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions; experience in financial services or capital markets is a plus.
