Data Migration Specialist

Fully remote

£520 per day Inside IR35

Morgan McKinley is working with a leading reporting company, seeking a Data Migration Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering all stages of the data migration lifecycle. You will work closely with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), solution consultants, and the Data Migration PM and Lead, as well as peers within the technical team. Your expertise in data migration activities will be essential for defining and maintaining data mapping rules (in collaboration with client SMEs), developing data transformation routines primarily using MS SQL Server stored procedures, troubleshooting data load failures, developing reconciliation routines, and identifying data quality issues.

What you'll be doing:

• Deliver source to target data mapping and obtain business sign-off.
• Resolve mapping challenges, advise on data derivation rules, and identify additional data sources to meet target requirements.
• Manage new data-related requirements, ensuring end-to-end implementation within the migration solution.
• Build, test, and deploy migration transformation code aligned with mapping requirements.
• Implement programmatic constraints over transformed data according to target data dictionaries.
• Manage data landing and transformation from off-system / grey IT sources.
• Run migration processes to produce valid load files supporting data cycles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues during load and testing phases.
• Support business SMEs and Business Data Analysts with technical queries and data preparation.
• Contribute to the Cutover Strategy and support go-live activities.
• Address risks, issues, and delivery challenges proactively.
• Promote best practices in migration methodology.

This is a technical, hands-on role requiring experience in migration finance systems. Experience with Unit4 ERP Finance system is a significant advantage.
