Job summary

The Citation Group is expanding its data and AI capabilities and seeks a Data Migration Engineer to move data safely between systems during platform consolidation. You’ll work on live migrations across CRM, billing, and other platforms, ensuring validation rules and automation map correctly before cutover.

You'll partner with the Head of Data Migrations, data owners, and platform specialists (Salesforce, Chargebee, Dynamics) to surface gaps early, understand underlying system logic, and design

Qualifications

• Proven experience with data migration projects and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong SQL skills and Python programming.
• Ability to map complex source-to-target logic and validation rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured data discovery and profiling at the start of every migration, surfacing quality and integrity issues before remediation.
• Build detailed source-to-target data mappings grounded in the systems’ logic and constraints.
• Identify where source and target differ and design for it during discovery rather than in testing.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines moving data between systems with transformation for edge cases.
• Own reconciliation and validation between source and target post-migration and trace discrepancies to root cause.
• Document migration logic, mappings, and known quirks for reuse across future migrations.
• Collaborate with data owners to drive cleanup of quality issues ahead of cutover.
• Support cutover planning and execution, including rollback considerations.
