Job summary

Somerset Council is looking for a Data and Intelligence Graduate to join the Flood Resilience Programme Team in Taunton. This two-year fixed-term opportunity on the Graduate Scheme offers hands-on experience turning data into insights that support resilience across Somerset.

You will collect, analyse and apply data to inform projects and decisions, working with partners to help protect communities and infrastructure. Growth through structured training and real-world delivery awaits.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree with 2:2 or better, obtained within the last 3 years.
• Strong analytical, technical and IT skills with data handling capability.
• Experience gathering and analysing information to support decisions.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.

Responsibilities

• Analyse data to support flood resilience planning and programme delivery.
• Produce data insights, reports and information for decision making.
• Support project delivery by researching, recording and coordinating activities.
• Contribute to system/process improvements to enhance effectiveness.
• Collaborate with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to share information.
• Use digital tools to provide data and intelligence support across the programme.
