Job summary

EY in Belfast seeks a Manager - Data Governance with expertise in data & AI to lead engagements from assessment through design and implementation. You will partner with senior stakeholders across industries to turn governance ambitions into practical, sustainable change while delivering value for clients and their data as a trusted asset.

This role combines client work, internal leadership and delivery excellence within a growing Data & AI practice.

Qualifications

• A completed degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Significant experience in data governance, data management or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in common data governance methodologies such as DAMA – DMBOK2
• Proven experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Practical knowledge of governance operating models and core data governance principles.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• The ability to manage delivery effectively while maintaining a strong client experience.
• Experience coaching and developing others, together with the energy to support the growth of the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead data governance engagements from initial assessment through design and implementation, ensuring the work supports the client's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Help clients establish clear and practical governance operating models, with appropriate ownership and accountability for data.
• Lead governance work across key domains such as data quality and lineage, focusing activity on the areas that will create the greatest value and build trust in data.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
• Facilitate discussions with senior business and technology stakeholders, turning complex requirements into clear decisions and realistic roadmaps.
• Champion operational efficiency improvements on projects and internal initiatives and will consistently drive projects to completion, and ensure the work is of high quality.
• Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you’ll create innovative insights which will add value to both our clients and to the broader society.
