Job summary

ScottishPower is seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead the development and embedding of governance policies, standards, and practices across the organisation. The role ensures data is treated as a strategic asset with clear ownership, security, and interoperability in a hybrid working environment.

You will align with Ofgem and industry best practice, drive policy adoption, and collaborate with Information Security and Data Protection teams to deliver tangible governance improvements.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards (e.g. DAMA, Ofgem Data Best Practice)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong analytical, planning, and organisational abilities
• Experience with data governance platforms (e.g. Informatica)
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical policies

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and maintain SPEN’s Data Governance framework with clear ownership and accountability
• Define, implement, and evolve Data Governance policies and standards
• Lead development of SPEN’s Open Data Triage Framework and Data Sharing Infrastructure Trust Framework
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into governance policies
• Ensure alignment with Information Security and Data Protection teams
• Drive adoption of data governance policies through training and engagement
• Chair the SPEN Data Governance Forum with clear decision-making authority
• Support enterprise data catalogue and data custodianship processes
• Represent SPEN in industry groups and with external regulators
