Job summary

Newcastle Building Society seeks a Data Governance Manager to design, implement and embed the Group's Data Governance Framework, ensuring strong ownership and high data quality across the organisation.

You will lead a team of Data Governance Analysts and work with Data Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, Technology and Business leaders to deliver governance that enables regulatory compliance and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Experienced Data Governance professional with a proven track record of governance initiatives in financial services environments.
• Strong experience implementing Data Governance frameworks, operating models and controls.
• Experience delivering governance training and awareness programmes and building a data culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and embedding of the enterprise Data Governance Framework.
• Oversee governance across the organisation with clear ownership and data quality improvements.
• Support the implementation of a new data platform and embed governance from the outset.
• Define metadata, lineage, retention requirements and identify Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
• Influence stakeholders across business and technology to adopt governance best practices.
