Job summary

InvestEngine seeks an Analyst to join the Analytics team, focusing on data governance, compliance (Consumer Duty, CASS, KYC/AML, GDPR) and data controls. You will translate regulatory requirements into reproducible data reports and dashboards, working with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Product and Commercial.

You will automate reports, build SQL/dbt models and use AI-enabled tools in a modern analytics stack, contributing to governance and scalable analytics across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Compliance Analyst or similar role.
• Strong SQL skills; hands-on experience with dbt, or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn modern transformation tooling quickly.
• Familiarity with data governance and regulatory topics (e.g. Consumer Duty, CASS, KYC/AML, GDPR, Market Abuse Regulation, data retention).
• An engineering mindset - automating, simplifying, or redesigning a manual process rather than living with it.
• Experience or strong interest in using AI tools to enhance analytical workflows - e.g. AI-assisted coding, prompt engineering, automation of repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable with version control (git) and other modern, engineering-influenced ways of working.
• Experience with modern BI tools (e.g. Metabase, Lightdash, Omni, Looker).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including with non-technical, compliance-focused stakeholders.
• Confidence to challenge the status quo and propose alternatives, backed by data and sound reasoning.
• Experience in fintech or financial services is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Governance & Compliance: design and rollout data governance framework and translate regulatory requirements into data controls and reports.
• Modern Analytics & Automation: build transformations with SQL/dbt, automate recurring reports and alerts, use AI-enabled tools.
• Ways of Working & Continuous Improvement: automate and propose new tools or architectures for analytics.
• Reporting & Dashboards: build and maintain dashboards, ensure consistent metrics.
• Data Quality & Documentation: ensure data accuracy and contribute to analytics glossary.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: work with non-technical stakeholders and communicate insights clearly.
