Macmillan Cancer Support is hiring a Data Governance Analyst on a fixed-term 12-month contract. The role is full-time (34.5 hours) with a hybrid model: one day per month in the London, Shipley or Glasgow offices. Salary range £43,500–£47,500 with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in data governance and data management.
• Knowledge of data catalogues, metadata and data lineage.
• Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with data quality reporting and dashboards.
• Familiarity with Excel, Power BI and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Data Governance standards, processes and documentation.
• Create and maintain outputs like Data Catalogue, Metadata Repository, Business Glossary and Data Lineage.
• Support population of Microsoft Purview and other tools.
• Work with Data Owners and Data Stewards to capture metadata and ownership.
• Document data lineage and data flows across systems and reports.
• Catalogue and document reports, dashboards, datasets and data products.
• Help improve data quality with Data Quality Management and dashboards.
• Champion data governance practices and guide colleagues.
• Contribute to maturity and continuous improvement.
• Build relationships across technical and business teams; translate concepts.
