TITLE: TAP Data Entry / Front Desk Clerk

LOCATION: Bury St. Edmunds IP28 8FU; RAF Mildenhall

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-site


POSITION SUMMARY

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry / Front Desk Clerk to support the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) at the Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) located on RAF Mildenhall, UK. This non-personal service role requires exceptional administrative, customer service, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, while maintaining accurate data records in support of separating service members and their families.

This role is vital to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for the M&FRC and contributes directly to the success of the TAP program, which is mandated by Congress and essential to military transition readiness.


RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

  • Serve as front desk reception for the M&FRC, greeting visitors and answering incoming calls.
  • Direct clients to appropriate M&FRC program managers and provide general TAP process information.
  • Schedule appointments and classes for M&FRC clients.
  • Provide administrative support for the TAP program and maintain required documentation.
  • Track TAP services and update internal records accordingly.
  • Enter and maintain data using the Air Force Family Integrated Results Statistical Tracking (AFFIRST) system (training will be provided).
  • Refer service members and families to the TAP Program Manager for in-depth guidance beyond initial intake.
  • Ensure sensitive information is managed in accordance with security and data integrity standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be local or willing to relocate to the United Kingdom.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work history.
  • 1+ years of experience in data entry, reception, or administrative roles.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, especially in a diverse environment.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English; able to communicate clearly with clients and staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new software systems and data platforms.
  • Understanding of military culture, protocol, and chain of command.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in military family readiness programs or similar support environments is highly desirable.
