Job summary

Zoopla is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead the data engineering function in a hybrid London setting. You will guide a four-person team, define the data roadmap, and align architecture with Platform Engineering and Product teams to deliver scalable data platforms.

Key focus areas include governance, AI integration, cost management of Fivetran, and building a robust data fabric that enables better business decisions and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading data engineering teams and setting technical direction.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Hands-on with data ingestion, integration patterns and governance.
• Ability to partner with engineering and product leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set data engineering strategy and own the roadmap.
• Lead and coach a team of data engineers.
• Own Fivetran relationships and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Product teams.
• Integrate AI into the data fabric and software factory.
• Build governance that scales with AI and data usage.
