Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Data Engineering Lead to join the Wholesale Data & Analytics team. You will technically lead the team, liaise with stakeholders, and drive end-to-end delivery of data solutions.

You will design applications, advocate modern engineering practices, CI/CD, automated testing, and stay ahead with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark, Scala and Python. HSBC offers strong development opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing data processes for Data Warehouse and production systems.
• Strong experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop / Spark).
• Programming in modern languages (Scala and Python).
• Strong delivery engineering tooling: Git/GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, and JIRA.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD, automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead team and liaise with business stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood before design and development.
• Hands-on coding and helping team members solve technical problems.
• Design of the application and own changes for new requirements and compliance with standards.
• Advocate for new technologies and accessibility.
• Ensure automated testing before user acceptance testing.
• Guide continual service improvement and end-to-end delivery from analysis to production.
