Job summary

Peaple Talent is recruiting a Data Engineering Lead to Bristol, working 3 days a week. You will lead a Data Engineering team, shape the data strategy, and drive the migration to a Databricks-based lakehouse, while staying hands-on with core tech.

You will balance technical leadership with strategic thinking, mentoring engineers and partnering with multiple business units to deliver transformation initiatives and a first-class data platform.

• Understanding of modern data architecture and cloud platforms.

I'm currently working with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced Data Engineering Lead to join their growing Data & Insight function.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people while staying technically hands-on, with a key role in shaping the organisation's data strategy and modernising its data platform.

We can consider Senior Data Engineers who are looking to make a step up into a more Senior role!

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, mentor and develop a talented team of Data Engineers
• Provide technical direction across data platforms and products
• Drive the migration to Databricks and a modern lakehouse environment
• Stay hands-on with complex engineering challenges using Python, SQL & Spark
• Work closely with Technology, Architecture, BI and wider business teams
• Support major transformation and integration programmes

• Solid understanding of modern data architecture and engineering practices
