Job summary

Corndel is actively hiring a Data Engineering Coach (Level 5) to help learners in the workplace grow into confident data engineers. This remote-first role combines hands-on data engineering with mentoring, teaching, and portfolio development to connect theory with real-world practice.

You’ll coach, mentor, and design learning experiences for professionals, guiding them through assessments while modeling strong ethics, cost-awareness, and security in data solutions across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or closely related role (Senior/Lead)
• Proficiency in SQL, Python for data pipelines, data modelling and batch design
• Experience coaching or mentoring others and explaining complex topics clearly
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP welcomed)

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor learners through 1:1 sessions and workshops
• Teach practical data engineering concepts grounded in real-world experience
• Help design and build reliable, scalable, secure data solutions beyond working code
• Guide learners through assessments and portfolios with high standards and feedback
• Model professional judgement around performance, cost, security, privacy, and ethics
