Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment are working with a leading professional sports organisation in the UK to recruit an experienced Data Engineer for its growing Data Science team.

Join an established team and own data pipelines, develop with Python and SQL, and help grow a Databricks-based data platform supporting performance analytics.

You will work with Data Scientists, tackle complex datasets including event and tracking data, and help shape future data strategy in sport.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' commercial experience in a Data Engineering role.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Experience building data pipelines and data processing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain reliable data pipelines and processes supporting analytics.
• Work with Python and SQL to process and manage complex datasets.
• Support Databricks environment and improve data platform scalability.
• Manage and integrate event and tracking data.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to ensure access to accurate data.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve data processes.
• Take ownership of data engineering challenges and propose solutions.
• Shape the organisation's data strategy as analytics needs evolve.
• Contribute to data architecture and infrastructure decisions.
