Job summary

Southampton Football Club is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to own and evolve the club's cloud-based data platform. You will develop and maintain pipelines that support performance analytics, recruitment, and sports science, while ensuring data quality and governance.

You will lead the technical implementation, build scalable pipelines, and collaborate with Data Scientists and coaching staff to deliver requirements and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering with scalable pipelines.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure/Databricks).
• Knowledge of data privacy, governance and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and configuration of the data platform.
• Build and maintain robust pipelines for analytics and reporting.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with data protection laws.
• Develop AI agents to monitor pipelines and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Sports teams; provide documentation.
