Job summary

Morson Edge (Financial Services) seeks a Data Engineer with strong Python and Databricks skills to lead the build of a new centralised investment data platform in the UK.

The role automates ingestion, cleaning and quality checks, formats outputs for risk, actuarial and investment reporting, and partners with senior stakeholders to shape scalable data architecture and analytics.

Qualifications

• 5 years in data engineering with strong Python coding skills.
• In-depth understanding of the Databricks ecosystem; Snowflake experience is a plus.
• Clear and confident communicator with ability to engage senior stakeholders and technical colleagues.
• Ability to take initiative and propose better solutions; proactive in seeking tasks.
• Background in Financial Services – Banking, Investment Management, Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the data architecture for the centralised investment platform.
• Automate data ingestion, cleaning/quality control, and data distribution across units (Risk, Actuarial, Investment).
• Define reports and outputs; work with teams to refine data analysis and reporting capabilities.
