Job summary

FDO Consulting Limited is hiring a Data Engineer for an on-prem data stack in a regulated financial services environment, with occasional travel to Marlow or Canary Wharf.

The role centers on SQL, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, Power BI and robust ETL/ELT pipelines, with some cloud knowledge in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS and Fabric. You will work with a team to deliver enterprise data solutions and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering and BI in regulated environments.
• Strong on-premises data integration and MS technologies.
• Proficient in PowerBI and SQL-based ETL/ELT.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.

Job description

Data Engineer, On prem, SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Regulated environment. One day a month in Marlow, Buckinghamshire or Canary Wharf, London. Salary £ 55000 - 60000 + excellent benefits

Please be aware the majority of the work is on-Prem so strong on-prem skills are critical. You should also have Cloud knowledge hopefully including Azure Data Factory, Databricks/Spark, ADLS and Microsoft Fabric.

Expanding financial services client are looking for a Data Engineer to join their team. Working with MS technologies you will be part of a team that will implement complex data solutions that provide best in class customer experience and allow the business to make data driven decisions. Working across the business you will develop solutions aligned to business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Deliver high quality enterprise level data solutions on Microsoft platforms.
• Work closely with architects and senior data engineers.
• Contribute to agile events.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Create technical documentation and release notes.
• Conduct testing prior to release.

Experience Required

Previous experience in data engineering and business intelligence. Experience working in a regulated environment (ideally financial services)

• Expertise in PowerBI
• Expertise in SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, etc
• Expertise with data pipelines and integrations ( ETL / ELT)
• A good understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, data normalisation, etc
• Knowledge of data manipulation languages (T-SQL, DAX)
• Cloud knowledge eg Azure data Factory, Databricks, ADLS, Fabric.

Knowledge of scripting languages and cloud technologies is an advantage however this role is mainly on-prem.

This role is mainly remote but you must live within a sensible commute of either Marlow, Buckinghamshire or Canary Wharf, London. Salary between £ 55000 - 60000 + excellent benefits. Interviews soon.
